Numbers and Figures
Hundreds of Thousands of Cubic Meters Slurry Walls

Meet Maxim Jacobovitz, an Engineer at Cementcal, leader of the National project ‘Obstacle in the South

Obstacle in the South is one of the most unique and complex security projects ever completed in Israel and worldwide. It consists of the construction of a 15 kilometers underground wall, aimed at protecting Israeli residents from the Gaza tunnel threat.

Our mission in this challenging engineering and technological project was to dig and build both concrete and deep underground walls along all 15 kilometers of the Gaza Strip.

Our greatest challenge in the project was the need to work within a tight schedule in an unstable security environment, while setting up several work teams and complex Hydromill systems along the security zone. To successfully accomplish this task, we set up a designated inhouse management system to deal with the projects human resource and engineering aspects. As our skilled teams are working vigorously in round the clock shifts, we are successfully meeting the challenge and intend to deliver the project on time.

I’m proud to be part of such an important National project that contributes to the security of the citizens of Israel, particularly those residing near the Gaza Strip. ”
