Meet Viktor Yekuti, an Engineer at Cementcal, who led the Midtown project in Tel Aviv
“Midtown is an innovative real estate venture in the heart of Tel Aviv. Situated on 18,000 square yards, the project consists of a 50-story office tower and a 46-story residential tower, built over six underground parking lots and an underground passage for the light rail. Future plans include an additional shopping mall and commercial space, a 480-seat sports stadium, kindergartens and a 6000 square yards park.
Our work included underground foundations, deep slurry walls and soil anchors, along with planning and implementing a pumping system which returns to the aquifer.
One of the major challenges in this project was the need to build the raft of the office tower before the excavation work was completed. To meet this challenge, we built a ramp on reinforced ground that enabled the building of the raft parallel to the excavation work. Thanks to our logistic preparations and meticulous engineering planning, we were able to deliver the project successfully and on time.
Complex and challenging projects such as Midtown are what motivate me to come to work every day with positive energy and passion.”
